• The pay: £10.25 - £10.50 PH.

We are looking for a Sewing Machinist to work for our Rotherham based client.

Summary of the Sewing Machinist position:

• The pay: £10.00 PH.
• The Location: Thurcroft, Rotherham. (Will be moving to a new site in Catcliffe at the end of this year).
• The Hours: Monday- Thursday 07:00 – 16:00, Friday: 07:00- 13:00.
• The Job: Your main responsibility will involve operating industrial flatbed, straight stitch, ‘off the arm’ and overlock sewing machines, on a variety of materials.
• The Person: Must have previous experience in a similar role, as a sew test will be required on site.

A successful Sewing Machinist might have:

• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Experience working within a fast-paced factory setting, working to high standards of conformity with regular QC interaction and guidance.
• Ability to feed large amounts of material through sewing machines each day, combining repetition and consistently high-quality output.
• Ability to change parameter sets on machines.
• Able to work to targets.
• A strong work ethic.
• The ability to work well as part of a team or alone.
• Experience at successfully delivering against challenging goals and targets.

Daily duties of a Sewing Machinist include:

• Changing machine settings for different jobs and working with the on-site mechanic to maximise your productivity. Parameter sets may have to regularly changed for different tasks.
• Feeding material through the machines.
• Stitching together other items, using guides and templates for positioning and badge stitching.
• Checking finished work against the companies QMS and designated SOP procedures.
• Designing pattern instructions and within quality measurements, working to exceptionally high standards of finish.
• Cleaning and oiling machines, regular routine maintenance and ownership of machine/equipment.
• Adhering to company health and safety policies, broken needle policies etc.
• Able to cover sickness and holiday absence on other machinist lines.
